We started our American Landscape Set with the intent of having it be a literary and artistic “melting pot” – one that is rich in multicultural contributions and experiences. The artwork for this set was created by Boulder Colorado-based artist, Chris Huang. Chris created an original colored pencil drawing that references Islamic, Jewish, Hindu, Chinese, Mexican, African, Native American, and African American symbols and imagery. We then united 8 books by contemporary novelists whose family roots can be traced across the world. Through the diversity of cultural experiences and traditions, strength emerges. The books in the set are published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Touchstone, Grand Central Publishing, Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill, Farrar Straus and Giroux, Hachette Books, Grove Press, and The New Press.
