At Juniper Books, our employees are more than just booksellers – they're passionate readers, book lovers, and sometimes cats, who bring their deep knowledge and personal favorites to the curation process! We caught up with some of the Juniper team today to gain a bit of insight into the books that have captured their hearts and imaginations. From the classics to high fantasy to architecture, each of our favorite sets has its own special story. Natalie, Lead Designer - Architecture Set
Because Natalie is the one making magic happen in the design studio, it was understandably more difficult for her to pick just one of her favorite book sets. “I’m really proud of the Blood and Ash set, it’s my favorite I’ve done” she admits. As far as which one captures her attention though, Natalie adores the Architecture set, which is composed of three books, each featuring one prominent architect. From the neo-futuristic structures of Santiago Calatrava, to the sublime aesthetic of Tadao Ando, and the staggering scope of Renzo Piano, this oersize book set is richly illustrated and informative. Each volume features hundreds of photographs and entries capturing the energy of different cultures and architectural styles—whether you studied Architecture at university like Natalie or know little to nothing about it, this set is nothing short of captivating.

Halee, Director of Marketing - Jane Austen Book Set
Her self-proclaimed “first love” outside of the fantasy genre, the Jane Austen Set is Halee’s favorite! “As someone who almost exclusively reads fantasy, specifically the subgenre of Grimdark Fantasy, Jane Austen holds a special place in my heart for fully captivating me with something completely different,” she said. From the witty dialogue to the unforgettable characters, Austen’s writing has a way of capturing our emotions and drawing us into a world that feels both familiar and enchanting. She loves this set too for how seamlessly the dainty, vellum dust jackets fit into any room.

Sandra, Director of Operations - All Souls Trilogy
Do not get Sandra started on the All Souls Trilogy, because whether it's about the beautiful jacket design, the fiery heroine Diana Bishop, or how she’s subscribed Deborah Harkness’ newsletter, she has a lot of feelings about this favorite set of hers. This three volume series is a unique blend of historical fiction, science fiction, and fantasy, full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. From ancient manuscripts to secret societies, there's never a dull moment in this series. “I just love, love, love these books!”

Kayla, Production Assistant - Science Fiction Classics Set
Wrapped in a tangerine scene of launching rockets and space rocks, Science Fiction Classics is a gorgeous addition to the shelves of any science fiction fan. Kayla didn’t think twice about dubbing this her favorite set, both because of the jacket design and the array of the award-winning authors. Kayla jokes though, if there were an Octavia Butler set, that would easily rise to the top of her list.

Jake, Special Projects Manager - Vladimir Nabakov Set
To engage with a Nabokov work is to be treated with delightful wordplay, impressive insight, and plotlines that unfold to become increasingly intricate and clever. His novels and nonfiction, from the famous Lolita to the autobiographical Speak, Memory, are brought together in this three-volume Everyman’s Library set. This remarkable set is Jake’s favorite, though he notes that the Sherlock Holmes Set is a close second.

Ariana, Marketing Coordinator - Throne of Glass Set
After discovering Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series in seventh grade, Ariana has been hooked ever since. Naturally, this is her favorite Juniper Books book set! The Throne of Glass series boasts a cast of kickass female characters that are both complex and inspiring. While the journey through all seven books is long, Ariana (as well as other Juniper Books fantasy fans) believe it's undoubtedly worth the ride. If you're a fan of whimsy, love and war, and world-building, we highly recommend diving into the world of Throne of Glass.

Buzz, Cat - Gothic Horror Classics Set
This old man loves attention, hates going outside, and is infinitely unbothered. If Buzz could read—which perhaps is a skill he has kept a secret from us—we believe that his favorite set would be the Gothic Horror Classics set. This set is perfect for the indoor cat, so to speak, as it features seven volumes of spine-chilling classics from the 18th and 19th century. When set in front of him, Buzz was immediately intrigued by The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, which we believe, is the only book review you could ever really need.
